God’s Faithfulness

He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations.

(1 Chronicles 16:15 NIV)

Almighty God, our faith in You is bolstered by Your faithfulness. No matter how many times we turn away, you patiently wait for us to return to You. Instill in us that same sense of honor and faithfulness that is Yours. May we be as faithful to You as you have been to us.

Faithfulness is an easy word but not so easy to put into constant practice in our daily lives. Why? Number One: We are not God. God is perfect; we are not.  Number Two: We, on the other hand, are not perfect. We try so hard to do and be what we should. Being human, we are tempted daily or even more often than that by Satan and his minions.

“Oh, come on, riding bikes be more fun than Bible Study or helping out at church? We could stop by the snack shop.” And this temptation doesn’t only apply to the kids, either. Adults face the same temptation. Adults also face other temptations like the football game. They may be in an adult group betting on who will win.”

Try checking your temptations daily. I won’t say it always works, but it makes me more aware of the choices I make. Blessings, friends.
