Full Circle

Have you ever had a day go 100% full circle? Well, today did for me. I woke up excited. You see, today was my grandson’s graduation day. As the day went on, I thought about him and his older sister, Alyssa. I was reminded of how they’ve grown into strong, capable adults that I am proud to say are a part of my family, and how much they genuinely care for each other, their family and us, their grandparents.

Later in the day, I began to get very nervous. I didn’t know why then. I still don’t. Then stomach issues made their appearance. Oh, wonderful. On graduation day? Seriously? You have got to be kidding!

During the ceremony, some very powerful and memorable words were read that had been written by a boy who would have graduated with my grandson but for passing with brain cancer. Newly diagnosed, he asked God, “Why me? What did I do?” Through his chemo and radiation, he came to his answer. Don’t ask Why me. Embrace your trials, because the trials you go through make you the person God wants you to be.

Please bear with me for one more minute so I can bring my story FULL CIRCLE. As I said, I wasn’t feeling the best during the ceremony. As I exited the ladies’ room afterward, I see Jerry, my husband, speaking to a security lady, who looks at me and says in all seriousness, “You look exquisite!”

That is my FULL CIRCLE story. Blessings, all.
