A Self-Checkup

Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord. Let us lift up our hearts and our hands to God in heaven.

(Lamentations 3:40-41 NIV)

Have you had any type of exam recently? Medical or school possibly? The idea of having an exam of any kind can strike fear into you even if you are prepared for the procedure. But the exam to which God calls us is different than any math final or even a set of philosophical questions.

It’s a self-checkup, a chance to ask ourselves tough questions and answer them honestly. If we give ourselves some not-so-good marks, we shouldn’t get discouraged. We can use what we learn about ourselves to start fresh, getting back into our relationship with God. And isn’t that what we want? A genuinely fulfilling relationship with God? Why not do a self-checkup today? I’m going to. Blessings, all.
