Amusement Park

My life this past week has been like an amusement ride. The funny thing is that when I was younger, I used to LOVE      amusement parks! No more. Not since Meniere’s.

You know the kid in the front of the parade with the BIG DRUM. Well, it seems as if he’s moved into my good ear, banging his drum so loudly — without attention to a song or tune – just beating it as he sees fit. The plume on his hat tickles my inner ear, and I can’t move it away or scratch the itch!

Some amusement rides make you dizzy, and that’s part of the fun of it. I’ve been dizzy for at least ten days, from one extent to the other. It reminds me of a roller coaster ride. At first, you come out of the chute on a straight, level track. You know the downward ride is coming, along with twists and turns. The slower, upward climbs show up too. In between all of the excitement, there are a few minor level seconds. All in all, it’s a fun experience.
