Yes, I know it’s January. I was doing an errand this morning and saw a sign that said Merry Christmas. It started me thinking. I thought it’s not Christmas anymore. Why say Merry Christmas now? Immediately on the tail of that thought was Why not? Why do we reserve the greeting of Merry Christmas for a particular time of the year?
Isn’t that like only saying I Love You once a year? I don’t know anyone who would do that, do you? I certainly wouldn’t. It feels to me that saying Merry Christmas is like saying I love you. You wouldn’t ration your use of the words I love you, would you? Not me! Put them together, and those are three of my favorite words!
In my mind, the birth of that little baby boy on that night in Bethlehem was the ultimate I Love You that we have been gifted. Merry Christmas! Love one another! Blessings!
Look for the Word! It’s everywhere!
