Closed Doors

Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

(Luke 18:27 NIV)

No door is closed to the Lord. He can walk through any door—locked or unlocked. Remember how He appeared to the disciplines in the upper room after His resurrection? Even though the doors were locked, Jesus stood in their midst and made a believer out of “Doubting Thomas” (see John 20: 24-28). The Lord has no boundaries or limitations.

Because of this truth, the Lord can walk through any locked door in our lives and open it from the inside. We must remember that His ways and timing are perfect. We must trust that He knows best. He will open the door for us if it is in accordance with His sovereign will. Until that happens, we are to “be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Being still means to cease striving and relax, trust, and wait.

Jesus told Thomas to “stop doubting and believe.” He encourages us to do the same! What doors in your life seem bolted shut? Sometimes God has closed them because He has something better in store. Ask Him. Or He may want to demonstrate His power by opening locked doors and taking you to the other side. Be still. Trust Him. Blessings, everyone.
