Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

                                                              (Psalm 139:13-14 NIV)

We are beautiful in God’s sight. What if we viewed our bodies as God does? Would we stop obsessing about our noses, wrinkles, weight, or hair? We are fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator. God loves us just as we are because we are His creation. He created us for an eternal purpose.

Our bodies were made by Him and for Him. When He looks at our bodies, He doesn’t see any physical flaws that may bother us. He doesn’t focus on our physical appearance. He is more concerned with our hearts and how we use our bodies. So, it stands to reason that we should take care of our bodies with proper rest, exercise, and nutrition so that our bodies are in optimal condition to be used by Him. “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship (Romans 12:1). Embrace the body the Lord has given you. Care for it properly. Do not focus on your appearance but on how you may be used by Him.  Blessings, all!
