“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 NIV)
Burdens come in many sizes, shapes, and forms. Some burdens urge us to act or pray for someone God has laid on our hearts. Troubling circumstances can quickly become burdens we hoist on our backs. Sin might be another burden we attempt to carry. Regardless of the burden, the longer er carry it, the heavier it becomes. It weighs us down physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Jesus never intended for us to carry our burdens. He is our burden-bearer. Jesus tells us to come to him and put on His yoke. He is stronger. As we allow Him to carry our burdens, our load will become lighter, and we will be able to rest.
What burdens are you carrying? Come to Jesus and lay your burdens at His feet. Allow Him to take them up for you. Find rest for your soul.
