Waiting For The Lord

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

(Psalm 46:10 NIV)

Do you have who is notoriously late? You always seem to be waiting for them to show up. Sometimes it may seem like we’re waiting on the Lord. But, in reality, we expect God to be on our timetable, and when He’s not, we think He’s late. The truth is God is always right on time. His timing is perfect. Maybe we need to adjust our watch to His time.

Waiting on the Lord requires patience. How often do we lose our patience and try to fix things ourselves? The difficult, sobering truth is that God is in control no matter how harsh the storm or how deep the grief or trouble is. Although it may be challenging to embrace the truth, it is the truth just the same.

Trust—it’s as simple as that. It’s an act of will. It’s a choice. Relax. Take a deep breath. Wait in the expectation that God will equip and sustain you through the storm. God is faithful. He knows the beginning from the end. Make up your mind right now to trust Him. Realize that He is always right on time.
