A Spirit-Filled Believer
The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them, God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end, I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me. To this end, I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.
(Colossians 1:26-29 NIV)
What are the characteristics of a Spirit-filled believer? The Apostle Paul is an excellent example of a life led by the Holy Spirit (Sarayu). Paul would admit he was weak. He endured shipwrecks, beatings, and imprisonment. How was he able not only to endure but to advance God’s kingdom under insurmountable opposition? He refused to depend on his own power, strength, and abilities. Paul relied totally on the power of the Holy Spirit (Sarayu) to do God’s work in and through him. He was sold out for the cause of Christ. I, too, feel the same way, sold out for the cause of Christ.
When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we experience a dramatic change from within like Paul did. I remember that day in my life vividly!! The day of my baptism. I talk about the difference Jesus has made in my life, how I can never get enough of Jesus, and also Paul. We would all do well to emulate Paul’s passion, focus, and perseverance. Anything I find is like a drink of fresh, clear water to me! I can’t get enough!
May you all be blessed!
