As is the case with all of us, Lisa yearned to be loved. She tried to earn the love she so desperately craved. Unfortunately, she looked for love in all the wrong places. Perfectionism and materialism failed to satisfy her. Poor choices in relationships only led to heartache and pain. There had to be a better way!
God sent His son Jesus to meet our need for love. 1 John 4:10 says, “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” God is love. When we find Him, we will find life as His unconditional love embraces us.
Blessings come as we allow the Lord to meet our needs. Attempting to strike out on our own will only lead to costly defeat. God’s truth can be suppressed for only so long. Eventually, it will prevail.
God yearns to bless us, show us His favor, and meet our needs. However, we must listen to Him; watch and wait for His answer. When we place our trust in Him, we will never be disappointed. Let’s find life by finding the Lord and allowing Him to be in control.
