And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
(Exodus 3:12 NIV)
God had an assignment for Moses and called to him from a burning bush. Moses had been chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt to the Promised Land. However, Moses didn’t immediately embrace God’s plan. He came up with one excuse after another why he couldn’t obey.
Moses was hesitant to approach Pharaoh and ask for the Israelites’ freedom. The Lord responded to Moses by assuring him that He would be with him. The Lord wanted Moses to depend upon Him rather than himself.
The same is true for us today. When the Lord gives us a divine assignment, He will be with us. He will meet our needs and enable us to accomplish His will. God wants us to totally depend on Him. Take the following steps when you want God to meet your needs:
- Acknowledge your need by going to the Lord in prayer with a humble heart.
- Seek God’s direction, trusting that He will provide the answer.
- Claim God’s promises found in His Word, asking Sarayu to open your mind and heart to truth.
- Be willing to wait patiently for God’s best.
- Thank God in advance for meeting your needs.
Lord, thank you for being with me. Help me to trust You and wait patiently for you to meet my needs. Amen.
