Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

Jesus plainly stated that if we love Him, we will obey him. It’s easy to confess our love to the Lord yet much more challenging to obey him. However, obedience to God is the key to living a victorious Christian life. God knows all of the twists and turns that our lives will take. He will guide us through whatever comes our way. The question we face is this: How much control are we going to let God have?
We may seek to control our lives, yet our efforts prove futile over and over again. The older we get, the more we learn that there’s little over which we have control. Therefore, why not relinquish all control over to the Lord? We know that He has only our best interests at heart. When we trust and obey him completely, He will bring beauty from the ash heaps of our lives. Since God created each of us, doesn’t it stand to reason that He alone knows what’s best for us?
