Closing In
I had to take a sabbatical from writing. I needed to drop into solitude with the Lord. Have you ever been there? To that weary spot where everything has hit you so hard that you can barely even function anymore? To that desolate spot where it feels like everything has been ripped from you and no one understands? To that painful spot where it just hurts so bad? Maybe you have. Many say it is a terrible place to be. But what if it isn’t? What if this is the very place that we need to be? God allows these times in our lives to draw us back to Him. We need to know that we can always depend on God to help us through whatever we are going through. We need to know that if all that we have is God then He, alone, is ENOUGH. God knows how we feel. After all, He sent His Only Son to walk this earth and Christ experienced these same spots that I speak of in this devotion. When it hurts so bad, draw near to The One who knows, sees, feels and truly understands. Let’s hold tightly to Isaiah 41:10 that says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
