When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear, and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below.
(Joshua 2:11 NIV)
Before Joshua captured the town of Jericho, he secretly sent spies into the city. Rahab, the prostitute, had heard how the God of Israel had led His people out of Egypt. She believed that the Lord was both “God in heaven above and on the earth below.” Because she believed this, she acted on her belief and hid the Israelite spies that had come secretly into Jericho. The Lord rewarded Rahab by sparing her life. Did you know that she can be found in the genealogy of Jesus?! It’s true.
Nothing from our past can keep us from coming to God and becoming a member of His family! Rahab was a prostitute, David an adulterer, and Saul (the apostle Paul) was a murderer. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, all our past heartaches are forgiven and forgotten by Jesus.
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
(Psalms 103:12 NIV)
Is your past preventing you from receiving God’s forgiveness? Nothing is permanent with God. Let Him come into your life and change you from the inside out.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
(2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)
Blessings, my friends!
