Life’s Difficulties

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

(Psalm 150:6  NIV)

Shepherds lead their sheep to clean, fresh water and green lush pastures. They tenderly care for each sheep in their fold. At night, the sheep can rest peacefully because they know their shepherd is sleeping across the gate of their pen to protect them from wild animals.

Jesus is our Good Shepherd. We are the sheep in His pasture. Like sheep, we can easily become frightened. We wander off and get lost. We desperately need a shepherd to meet our every need.

Take heart! When we are scared, He is there. We can be confident during life’s difficulties because of His presence, His power, and His provision. Jesus is the One who dispels fear and provides comfort. He carries us through every experience—good or bad. He is trustworthy and always faithful. He knows all that is happening to us. He knows our thoughts and fears. Jesus is there for us. He shows us mercy and love in many tangible ways. He guides and leads us on the right paths. We should have no need for anxiety because our Good Shepherd is always watching over us. He has a plan for us. Complete trust is what He desires from us—total surrender.
