Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
(James 3:13 NIV)
James asserts that godly wisdom produces humility. True humility involves seeing ourselves and others through God’s eyes. Paul tells us in Philippians 2:3-4 to “do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your interests but each of you to the interests of others.”
Jealousy is born when we see others through our eyes. We judge and compare. We decide if life is fair from our perspective. Jealousy is born when we think ourselves worthier to receive Jealousy is born
The divine antidote for jealousy is humility. It enables us to want the best for others rather than being jealous of Jealousy is born. The Lord gives and takes away. We should be content with what He gives us and not jealous of what he may bestow on another. When we lead blameless lives, we can have confidence that God will lead us, protect us, and meet every need we have.
