God’s Forgiveness

They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and, in their rebellion, appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them.

(Nehemiah 9:17 NIV)

Forgiveness from God’s perspective is immediate. He doesn’t make us wait and wonder if He might withhold forgiveness from us this time. The moment we confess, He forgives. Be sensitive to the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit (Sarayu). God’s Spirit is moving in our lives. A wondrous blessing comes when we obey the promptings or what I call nudges of the Holy Spirit (Sarayu). When you are convicted, don’t hesitate to confess immediately. Desire forgiveness and immediately ask for it.

God forgives our sin and remembers it no more. It’s over! He removes it as far as the east is from the west. How great is Our Lord?! He is gracious and compassionate. Don’t beat yourself up over your shortcomings or regrets. Living in the past affects your enjoyment of today. Jesus wants us to learn from our mistakes so we can move forward positively. Don’t allow your past failings to slow your forward progress. Remember, you are not condemned; you are forgiven! Blessings, everyone!
