Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants, you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider Your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon, and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
(Psalm 8:1-4 NIV)
Open your eyes. Look around you. The splendor and majesty of God surround us. Think about the immense beauty of the Grand Canyon, an Alaskan glacier calving (breaking away), or the enormous waves of the Pacific Ocean. Google the migration of hummingbirds. Make an effort to wake up early enough to witness a sunrise!
Do we take the time to appreciate what God has created? If so, how do we respond to its breathtaking beauty? Do we give Him praise and thanksgiving for allowing us to witness it?
God’s splendor is seen above the heavens, the work of His fingers. He has long ago ordained the moon and the stars. They were arranged and put in place in the beginning. He has placed humans in charge of His creation. We are to rule over the animals and fish in the sea. How majestic is His name! How fabulous are His creations!
Lord, open my eyes so that I may see You in all of creation and marvel at who You are! I give You praise as Creator of all we see and experience.
