God Comes to Us

Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).

(John 20:16 NIV)

On the first day of the week, after Jesus’ crucifixion, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb. When she saw the stone had been removed, she ran to tell Peter and John. When they entered the tomb, they discovered the strips of linen lying there, but His body was gone.

Mary Magdalene was so distraught! Who had taken her beloved Jesus? Peter and John eventually left the tomb and went back to the gathering place. However, all Mary could do was stand there and weep. Her world had fallen apart; her hope had been shattered. That is precisely the moment when Jesus came to her and spoke her name, “Mary.” Immediately, she recognized His voice and instinctively tried to embrace Him. Jesus came to earth to save the lost from eternal death, not to judge us. He died and rose again for us. He is alive and interested in each of us and our lives. What is your greatest need? The Lord will fulfill it when you cry out to Him. He is there, ready to respond. In your darkest hour, He will come to you and call your name. Will you hear Him calling you? Blessings, my friends.
