Hearing From God

Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.

(Job 13:15 NIV)

God permitted Satan to test Job. Job lost it all—his children, livestock, and health; even his wife and friends turned against him. Yet, he never lost his faith nor sinned against God. In his despair, Job was honest with God, saying, “Though He slays me, yet will I hope in him.” Job made a conscious decision to continue to trust God even though he was an emotional wreck. God eventually restored Job by blessing the latter part of his life more than the first.

Our attitude has a lot to do with how God answers our concerns. We need to show our honest emotions, but not with an egotistical, self-sufficient, rebellious attitude. What pleases God is being submissive to His will. He has a plan for each of our lives! Trust Him and flow with it. He knows what He’s doing!
