Available for His Purposes

I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves along the ground.

(Leviticus 11:44 NIV)

When we were younger, my brother and I used to think that sanctify meant something like “sanitize.” We thought God was calling us to clean up our acts. But sanctify actually means set apart and, in this case, means “set apart to God.” It’s a call for me to commit myself to God, to put myself in His hands, to be available for His purposes. Then, as I give myself to Him, He makes me able to walk in holiness. Blessings to you all.
