Muskrat Love

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a muskrat like this: an aquatic rodent (Ondatra zibethica) of the U.S. and Canada with a long scaly laterally compressed tail, webbed hind feet, and dark glossy brown fur.

Wikipedia describes Muskrat Love as follows: “Muskrat Love” is a soft rock song written by Willis Alan Ramsey. The song depicts a romantic liaison between two anthropomorphic muskrats named Susie and Sam. In 1976, a cover by pop music duo Captain & Tennille resulted in the song’s highest-profile, peaking at number four on the Hot 100 chart. It also reached number two on the Cash Box chart, which ranked it the 30th biggest hit of 1976.

As Jerry and I talked this morning, Muskrat Love popped into my head. It was one of our favorite songs while we were dating. We were young, carefree, and in love.  What a wonderful time!

May you be blessed today and take the time to remember a memory from your dating years! You’ll have a smile on your face, and your heart will be a bit lighter. Enjoy!
