So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
(Matthew 6:31-33 NIV)
Prioritizing spiritual realities over temporal ones is not always easy. The physical realities are tangible. I can hold a stack of bills in my hand and know that problems will arise if I don’t pay them. But those spiritual realities, well, the benefits and, consequences are not always so easy to recognize or see in the moment.
This is a faith issue, pure and simple. First, I need to stay calm about the issue of provisions. Second, I need to keep stawing near to You, Lord. Third, I need to reach out to others with Your love. And after all of these things are done, I need to trust you with the results.
Since God has given me a cheerful heart, I serve Him with a cheerful spirit.
