Driving home today, I saw a church sign that said, Autumn Leaves, God Does Not. Those words made me stop and think. Here we are in Fall. The Autumnal Equinox occurred on September 23rd. The Winter Solstice will occur on December 21st. Just as the seasons change, so do people. God made us that way. He also gave us Free Will; that can be good or bad.
You see, we naturally like to think of it positively; that bad people change into good people. It gives us hope for the future. If we are honest with ourselves, we know good people can also transform into bad people. We are living in a time of constant change. People continuously enter and leave our lives; even circumstances change.
It is comforting to my heart to know that God does not change. His love is constant, unchanging, everlasting. God does some awesome stuff for us, His Children. He gives us life, gives us this beautiful and sometimes challenging world to live in; friends and loved ones to care for and who care for us. God wants us all to return to Him. To aid us in doing so, He gives us His Word and people He has chosen to help guide us back to Him. God is always with us. He will never leave us. We may not see Him or realize, but He is there to help us and guide us no matter. Lean on Him today. He can take it!
I don’t know about anyone else, but these thoughts reassure me and make me smile. What about you?
